Virginia Bertuccio

Matthew 11:28-30

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Virginia Elizabeth Piercy Bertuccio (affectionately known as Mrs. V or Ginney to longtime friends) was born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 22nd,1922.  She was the daughter of the late Helen Piercy Baker & Eddie King.  She departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on November 27th, 2019 at the age of 97 at Shannondell at Valley Forge in Audubon, PA.

Virginia is preceded in death by her husband Domenick J. Bertuccio, her daughter Brenda J. Jones and her sister Margaret A. Griffin.

As told by Virginia she met the love of her life Domenick J. Bertuccio in New York and shortly thereafter they relocated to Oaks, Pennsylvania where they resided for over 50 plus years.  Young Virginia was very ambitious and determined to succeed.  She pursued classes in computers which led her to have a very successful career at a local computer data company in Pennsylvania.  Her lengthy career ended when she retired in 1985.  Virginia enjoyed, reading, playing golf, sewing and taking care of her family & friends, she was a true sever for others.  She thoroughly and extensively loved traveling and shopping.  One of her hobbies was staying informed on current events, which made for great conversations with her.

Virginia was the senior member of Bethel Baptist Church located in Phoenixville, where she served faithfully for many years in various ministries (Pastor’s Aide; Women’s ministry and the Hospitality committee) creating long lasting & loving relationships with many members (Thank you Ms. Addey & Brenda for all you did for Virginia).  Also she volunteered for the “meals on wheels program” in her spare time and taking friends to their appointments as she drove up to age 92,she will be missed dearly.

Virginia Elizabeth Piercy Bertuccio leaves to cherish her memory 3 Grandchildren, Jeffrey Jones (coletta) Brooklyn NY, Karen Jones Brooklyn NY and Allen Jones (Veronica) Garner NC…5 Great-Grandchildren Samuel Rossi (Jennifer), Andre Jones, Christopher Jones, Kevin Jones and Timothy Jones…4 Great-Great-Grandchildren Meliki, Demetri, Matheo, and Jazlynn.  She is also survived by her Sister Margaret Perry South Hill VA, her Nephew Sam Perry Richmond VA, her Nieces Jackie Perry Charlottesville VA, Ronnie Griffin Brooklyn NY, her Great Niece Ronette Taylor, 4 Great-great Nieces Ryiah, Renyiah, Ryligh, and Ryla and her Son-in-Law Sim Jones Brooklyn NY. Along with a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
