Vincent Lombardi

Vincent “PRINCE” Lombardi, 98, husband of the late Loretta A. (Brango) Lombardi passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

Born on November 25, 1922 in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son the late Peter and Rose Marie (Foresta) Lombardi.

He served in the US Army during World War II in the Aleutian Islands and the Pacific Theatre as the Company Carpenter.

Born and raised in Phoenixville where most knew him as Prince, a nick name given to him by his mother when he was a child.  Always with a hammer and nails, he loved to build things from a very young age.  While most kids were playing ball, Prince was building.  He went on to establish Phoenix Building Construction Company, Inc. in 1948 after he returned from the Army.  He built many local structures including St. Ann’s Chapel, Schuylkill School, St. Ann’s School Addition; Phoenixville Manor, Manatawny Manor, Mother Divine Province in King of Prussia and Chester County Hospital and several private residences to name a few.

Prince loved to go on long walks and hikes with his kids and then his grandkids.  He loved the outdoors and loved to go to his shore house which he built in 1970 on Long Beach Island, NJ.  There, he loved to go boating, clamming, crabbing and then cooking with his wife for the many family and friends that visited.  He loved helping all his kids and grandkids by doing carpentry and fixing up their houses and making them furniture.

He led a beautiful, long life and passed at the age of 98.

He is survived by his five children:

Son, Richard, husband of Joan Lombardi

Son, James, husband of Lisa Lombardi

Daughter, Judy wife of the late Brian Higgins

Daughter, Rosemary, wife of Michael Yanchek

Son, Vincent, husband of Becky Lombardi

Brother, Edward Lombardi – age 99.

A viewing will be held in Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am.

A Funeral Mass will be private due to current COVID restrictions.

Family and friends may attend the Interment service with military honors in St. Ann Cemetery at 12:00 noon.
