Patricia Hand

Patricia (O’Neill) Hand, wife of the late Lawrence J. Hand, died peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2019, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Born on December 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Francis O’Neill and Helen (Repko) O’Neill. Patricia was a lifelong resident of Phoenixville as well as a lifelong member of St. Ann Church. She was a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girl’s High School. Patricia was crowned Phoenixville’s Centennial Queen in 1947. On December 27, 1952, she married Lawrence J. Hand and together they celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2011.

She was a homemaker and a long time employee of Werner Bus Lines. Her family and faith were the most important things in her life. She loved going to the Outer Banks with daughter Donna, going shopping at Boscov’s and seeing shows at Forge Theatre with daughter Denise, having long phone conversations with daughter Deb as well as her loving nieces, and visits from son Larry who was her go –to when something needed checked or fixed. Her children and grandchildren were her source of pride and joy.

Patricia is survived by her four children, Donna (Jack) Kraynak, Denise (Ed “Wings”) Wisneski, Deb (Tom) Thorpe and Larry (Pam) Hand; her seven grandchildren, Christa Wisneski, Lauren (fiancé Hyun Kim) Thorpe, John (Rory) Kraynak, Jessica (Ben Woodward) Thorpe, David (Kaitlin) Thorpe, Casey James Hand and Derek (fiancé Jess Toth) Hand; her two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Olivia Kraynak. In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by her sister Corrine (Connie) White and brother Francis “Bumper” O’Neill.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Ann Catholic Church, 502 South Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville, on Thursday, May 2 at 10:30 am. A viewing will be held in the church from 9:00 am to 10:15 am. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia’s memory may be made to Julia’s Grace Foundation PO Box 1081, Royersford, PA 19468, or Forge Theatre (Chair Fund) PO Box 474, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
