John G. Lorusso, 60, fiancé of Jill Carlin Sottanella of Gilbertsville, PA died on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in the Phoenixville Hospital.
Born on February 3, 1961, he was the son of late Joseph T. and Hessie (Johnson) Lorusso.
John was a 1979 graduate of Phoenixville Area High School.
John served in the United States Army, a 21 year retired combat veteran. He was with the 1st Battalion 159th Aviation Regiment. An Aviator who flew Huey helicopters in Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm.
John worked as Service Sales Representative for CINTAS First Aid and Safety Division in Conshohocken.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1564, Phoenixville PA, served as Service Officer and held other positions including Post Commander. He was Legacy Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Also, he was the VFW Department of Pennsylvania District 9 Commander and State Veterans & Military Support Chairman. John was also a member of American Legion Post 602.
John loved to fish and always enjoyed his years shuffle roller skating at the Kimberton Rollerama and many shuffle skate competitions.
In addition to his fiancé he is survived by 5 children:
Three Grandchildren, Ambyr (Nick), Angelina, and Tommy.
Brothers and sisters: Harrison Jackson, Jean (Jackson) Long, Theresa (Lorusso) Howard, Tony Lorusso, Jim Lorusso with Shirley Davis, Patsy wife of Rick Gerstemeier and Angie wife of Tom Supplee.
He was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Michael Lorusso and brothers, Joseph Lorusso and Garson Jackson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing at the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. A Ceremony honoring John's military service will be begin at 2:00 pm.
