Ernest Solomon Randall, 98, of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021 at home.  Ernie, most people called him, was born on March 6, 1923 in Newnan, GA to Henry Randall and Vollie Mae (Amy) Randall.

Upon graduation from high school, Ernie enlisted in the United States Army.  He served in World War II as a Medic.  After WWII, he retrained and served as an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Specialist in the Medical Specialist Division with the majority of his career at Valley Forge General Hospital (VFGH).  It was at VFGH Ernie met and married Shirley Randall where they began their family with Ivan and Eileen being born from their marriage.  When Ernie and Shirley divorced, he continued to support his family.  Ernie retired from the military after serving his country for 21 years.  Upon military retirement, Ernie worked at Container Corporation of America (CCA) in Phoenixville.  After 20 years of service, he retired as Quality Control Inspector.  Having worked in the Medical field and Corporate America with 40 plus years of dedicated service, Ernie retired touching the lives of so many people in the Phoenixville community.  Often people referred to Ernie as the mayor because he knew many people and many people knew him after living in Phoenixville over 55 years.

Ernest was a lover of golf!  He loved to read and listen to music but playing golf and watching golf was his first love.  He played in countless golf tournaments inside and outside the Phoenixville area winning multiple awards and trophies.  More importantly, Ernie made many friends, both male and female, through golf.  Golf created a United Nations of friendships for Ernie.

Ernest had a strong faith in God.  He was a highly intelligent man who lived a simple straight forward life.  Once he got to know you, he would share his belief and faith to encourage others to be at their best for themselves and their families.  His children were raised to know and follow the Lord.  Ernie loved his family and his friends.  He treated his friends like they were his   family.  Once you had a place in his heart, you were there forever.  Ernest was giving, free-hearted, care-free, full of life, and full of laughter.

Ernest’s memories will live on in those he leaves behind.  He is survived by his two children Son, Ivan Randall and wife Melissa (Henry) Randall (Pleasanton, CA); Daughter Eileen Randall (St. Petersburg, FL); Stepdaughter Alyssa Randall-Sam and husband James Sam (Houston, TX); Six Grandchildren: Two Grandsons Adrian Randall (Pleasanton, CA) and Ivan Borden (Burlington, NJ); Four Granddaughters: Brittany Randall (Pleasanton, CA); Hannah Sam (Houston, TX); Porscha Simmons (Denver, CO); and Aisha Blackstock and wife Jasmine (Dixon) Blackstock (Portland, OR); Three Great Grandchildren: Great Grandson Cairo Simmons (Denver, CO); Great Granddaughters: Sahara Simmons (Oklahoma City, OK) and T’Anya Simmons (Oklahoma City, OK)

He was preceded in death by his siblings: brother Willie and sisters: Mildred, Katie, Vera, Sarah, Addie; and will be loved and remembered by a host of nephews and nieces, other relatives, and friends.

His funeral service with military honors will be private.

Ernie was like a father to me, I learn so much listening to him. Every time we would see each other it was “ my man, pots and pans” and we would talk about anything and everything. He was at my wedding, when my child was born, and at every family function. Ernie wasn’t just like family to me, he WAS FAMILY. May God’ wrap his arms around Ernie until we meet again. He will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace my friend,
