Antoinette "Toni" Hitchens

Antoinette “Toni” (Bering) Hitchens 76, wife of the late William R. Hitchens Jr. of Cape Coral, FL., passed away peacefully with family by her bedside at Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Phoenixville, PA. after a courageous battle with Cancer.

Toni was born in Lebanon, PA on December 10, 1944 to Anthony and Mary (Havernick) Bering and was the youngest of four children.

She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Sister Rosemary Bering, OSF. She is survived by her brothers, Joseph (Agnes Quarry) Bering, Anthony (Connie Moyer)Bering, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.



Toni graduated from Lebanon Catholic High School, Lebanon PA. In addition she took pre certification exams in Real Estate and Title Management becoming licensed in both specialities. She was a licensed Real Estate agent in DE, MD, and FL.

Most recently, she was recognized as a Certified/ Licensed Title Agent. She worked for Assurance Title Company, Cape Coral, FL, before starting her own Title Corporation, “Antoinette Bering Hitchens, Inc.”in Cape Coral, FL.

Prior to the above, Toni held many prestigious positions which included “Events Coordinator” for New Castle County, DE Board of Realtors, legal secretary to 3 prominent lawyers in DE providing services in Probate Law, Estates, Corporation/Residential Real Estate, and Transactional Law.

She had a passion for playing golf, exercising, solving crossword puzzles, and enjoying all of the amenities which living in Florida afforded.

The Bering Family would like to extend our gratitude to all of the staff at Seasons Hospice for their compassionate and loving care. We especially want to thank Patsy Cooper (her sister-in -law) for providing special love and care while Toni was still in FL, and Nikki Hitchens (her step daughter), who offered encouragement and was with her during her final days.

A funeral Mass and internment will be determined at a future date. Memorials in Antoinette’s honor may be made to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 140 Nutt Road, Phoenixville, PA.
