Warren Allen Hampton, Esq., 63, beloved husband of Heather Ann McCreary, Esq., of Pottstown, PA, passed away on February 14, 2026.
Born September 2, 1962, in Haverhill, MA, he was the fourth child of the late Harold Burton, Esq. and Irene (Lopes) Hampton.
Warren grew up in Boxford, Massachusetts where he spent his time learning how to cook from his beloved mother, eating fig bars from the Tripoli Bakery, taking care of his family’s horses, and going to court with his father, a lawyer. He attended boarding school at West Nottingham Academy in Colora, Maryland where he played football, wrestled, and acted in the school play. He started college at Transylvania University and graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a degree in Political Science and a focus on Eastern Europe. Warren then worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction prior to attending Thomas M. Cooley (now Western Michigan) Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where he played rugby and met his sweetheart Heather. In Michigan, Warren clerked for Judge Cherry of the Circuit Court and for Jeffrey Ray, Esq., before beginning as a defense attorney at Neal, Neal & Stewart in Flint.
In 1995, Warren and Heather opened their own law firm, Hampton & McCreary, in Eagle, PA, where they partnered for over 30 years serving countless clients. Warren had many professional successes including securing the highest verdict ever awarded in Chester County in a medical negligence case, and arguing before the Michigan and Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He was a lover of jurisprudence (legal philosophy) and a fierce protector of his clients’ rights. He was dedicated to delivering justice for them.
Warren lived a full and generous life. He was a dedicated husband and father, marrying his law school sweetheart Heather in 1994 and welcoming his daughters Sarah and Claire into the world in 1997 and 1999, respectively. He was adored by his girls — Heather, Sarah, Claire, and Lucky — and he adored them in return, always striving (and often succeeding) to give them the world. Warren attended all activities his girls participated in — sports games, dance recitals, musicals, band and choir concerts, mock trial competitions, robotics competitions, and more. Warren’s cooking was unparalleled and he loved sharing this passion with others through his food and through teaching others to cook. He was quite a raconteur - he loved telling stories and had a wicked sense of humor. He loved learning about other cultures and traveling, riding roller coasters with Heather, fishing, and all types of music - folk, country, instrumental, Taylor Swift, Jimmy Buffett, Van Morrison, John Moreland. He was also a fantastic artist, just like his mother.
Warren was an active community servant, volunteering his time with many organizations including the Coventryville United Methodist Church as Finance Chair, Sunday School teacher, Youth Group leader, choir member, bazaar and event head chef, and Vacation Bible School leader; Owen J. Roberts (OJR) High School Mock Trial as Coach; Bryn Mawr College Mock Trial as Coach; OJR Middle School PTA President; OJR Age Group Swim Board; and youth soccer coach. Over the years he also served as Judge of Elections for South Coventry Township, was a member of the Chester County Bar Association, and held memberships with the Pottstown Kiwanis, Free and Accepted Masons, and the Cooley Law Rugby Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Sarah Hampton, Esq. (wife, Lauren Leiggi, Esq.); daughter, Claire Hampton (husband, Stephen Waskiw, Esq. to be); sister Julie Milburn; sister, Leigh Gibson; niece Barbara Hampton (husband, Brad Winkler), great nephews Gavin and Elijah Winkler, great niece Lily Winkler; brother-in-law Ralph McCreary, niece Victoria McCreary, nephew Nathan McCreary; sister-in-law Rebecca McCreary; and his adored 22-year-old orange cat, Lucky. He is also survived by extended family and friends whom he loved and the numerous clients and individuals whose lives he changed along the way. He was preceded in death by his brother, Burton Hampton.
Warren was known for his unconditional love of his family, quick wit, love of the law, and his cooking. His greatest verdict was a life of conviction — in the courtroom, in his love for his family, and in the way he showed up for others. If you knew him, you were protected, well-fed, and probably laughing.
Warren’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Coventryville United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:30 AM with the service beginning at 1:00 PM. A reception at El Tequila Sports Bar and Grill (formerly Cutillos) will follow at 3:00 PM.
The family requests bright colors to be worn - Warren loved blue and green and turtles. If you have any photos, stories, or recipes Warren shared with you, please send them to Claire at 484-949-1181 or clairehampton28@gmail.com so she can help compile them.
In lieu of flowers, donations to assist with funeral and unexpected expenses would be deeply appreciated: https://gofund.me/aca800f86
