Audubon

Vivian Irene Sedlacek, 98 – surrounded by many family members, she went home in peace on February 19.  On May 4, 1925 she was born in Bee, Nebraska.  In 1942 she married John Sedlacek and spent 2 years on a farm in Bruno. While raising 3 boys she helped John get a degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Nebraska before moving their family on to John’s business career and full involvement in the community of Phoenixville.

One of Vivian’s favorite activities was music.  She sang in many choirs including First Presbyterian in Phoenixville and Holy Way in Tucson AZ.  After moving to Shannondell in 2003 she spent 18 years singing with the Shannondell singers.

Vivian is predeceased by John who died in 2005 and sons Thomas in 2000 and Jarry in 2008.  She is survived by son Keith and daughter Mona (husband Bill), sister Norma Jean, 12 beloved grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She had a sincere love of all new babies as they joined our family.

Vivian has been a member of First Presbyterian Church for over 60 years.  She was an active member there in the choir, also as elder and deacon.  She also belonged to other organizations such as Christian Women’s Club and Eastern Star.   Her faith has guided her throughout her long life.  She spent winters in Tucson AZ and greatly enjoyed a church at the foothills of Cat Mountain called Holy Way where she belonged to that choir for many years.  She spent many happy summers surrounded by family and friends of all ages in Avalon, NJ and volunteered at services and events held at Wells Memorial.  Grandchildren will remember going to church with them enticed by ringing the bell in the tower!

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday March 2 at First Presbyterian Church 145 Main St, Phoenixville, PA  starting at 9:30 with her going home celebration to follow at 11 am.  In lieu of flowers, Vivian would appreciate contributions be sent to First Presbyterian Church window fund, 145 Main St., Phoenixville PA  19460.
