Thomas G. Satryan of Murrysville, PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Tom, son of the late George H. and Florence E. (Caldwell) Satryan, was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 13, 1933. He was raised in Swissvale and graduated from Swissvale High School in 1951. He worked as a carpenter after high school until he was called to serve in the United States Army during the Korean conflict where he attained the rank of Sergeant. After receiving an honorable discharge he married and started a family moving to Penn Hills, PA. In addition to working to support his family, he also attended night school for eleven years graduating from Carnegie Mellon University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by Westinghouse Electro-Mechanical Division for 33 years, serving as manager of field service for many years.
He and his wife, Margie, enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively throughout the United States and 52 foreign countries. They volunteered together at Western Pennsylvania Hospital-Forbes Regional Campus taking the gift cart to patients and staff for 21 years and also volunteered at their church food bank for many years. He also served as an usher at his church, Monroeville Assembly of God for 30 years.
He was a hunter and particularly enjoyed hunting with his sons. He was a life member of the NRA, a member of Crowfoot Sportsmen's Club and served on the board of the Westmoreland County Sportsmen's League from which he received their "Hall of Fame Award" in 2009 for his leadership and long term interest in the conservation of the public's natural resources at the county, state and federal level, and his many years of service to county sportsmen. He also played softball in the Penn Hills Senior League for 20 plus years and was proud to have played on their softball team in the Senior Olympics in Pittsburgh in 2005. In addition to hunting and softball he was an avid reader and was knowledgeable about most firearms and automobiles. He always was able to come up with a good joke in most situations.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marjorie (Milliron) Satryan and their sons, Rev. Timothy G. Satryan (Carolyn) of Long Neck, DE and Drs. Michael A. (Marcia) Satryan of Phoenixville, PA.
Four granddaughters, Jessica (Andy) Shaw, Amanda (Daniel) Share, Lindsay (Joshua) Delgado, Chrystalynn (John) Sturgill.
5 great-grandchildren, Cooper, Mason, Devon, Emma, and Brinley.
Sister, Marigrace Thomas of Virginia Beach, VA.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert A. Satryan.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service in the Grace Lutheran Church, 594 Church Street, Royersford, PA on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 10:00 am.
