Thomas A. Galligher, Jr., 74, beloved husband of Patricia Benvenuto of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Paoli Hospital.

 

Born on October 4, 1947 in Upper Darby, PA he was the son of the late Thomas A. Galligher, Sr. and Emma (Mulqueen) Galligher.

 

Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and served as a drill sergeant. Following his service, he was a successful life insurance agent for Provident Mutual Life Insurance before it was sold to Nationwide Life Insurance Company. He was also a world famous trap shooter and an avid hunter and fisherman.

 

His family will remember many trips pheasant hunting in South Dakota, deer hunting in Pennsylvania, quail hunting in Georgia, elk hunting in Colorado, hunting doves and pigeons in Argentina, fishing in New Jersey, Islamorada and Alaska and clay target shooting at the Field and Stream and Sportmen’s clubs. Tom was quick to share his talents and taught many how to shoot, hunt and fish.

 

In addition to his wife Pat, he is survived by 3 children:

Son, Sean Galligher;

Daughter, Diane Benvenuto;

Son, Stephen Benvenuto (Haley)

 

Grandson, Vaughn Benvenuto.

 

Brother, Dennis Galligher (Andrea)

Brother, Wayne Galligher

 

Relatives and friends are invited to Memorial Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at 11:00 am. Military funeral honors will follow the service.

 

A visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the charity of your choice.
