Theresia Paukovits

Theresia (Jandrisevits) Paukovits, 87, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and wife of the late Louis Paukovits passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Born on May 19, 1936 in Tudersdorf, Austria, she was the daughter of late Franz and Agnes (Unger) Jandrisevits. After finishing high school, she moved to Lucerne, Switzerland where she worked as a housekeeper before moving to the United States. She came to America in 1959 and became a naturalized US citizen on December 6, 1995. She first lived with her Uncle Lois, cousins Frank and Ethel Jandrisevits in Northampton, Pennsylvania. She then moved to Manhattan, New York where she met her future husband Louis and worked as a server for private parties and events. After she was married on May 20, 1961, Theresia lived with her husband and two daughters in Bronx, New York until 1977 when the family moved to Audubon, Pennsylvania. Theresia worked as a waitress and enjoyed providing the best food service to her customers. She was a valued employee of Stouffer’s Valley Forge Hotel for many years. After moving from her home in 2016, she resided with her daughters in Phoenixville, PA and Annandale, NJ. During that time, she especially looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and her great grandson. In December, 2022, she became a resident at Brandywine Living at Upper Providence where she was living when she was called home to God.

Theresia enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, and entertaining in her home. She was known for the best apple strudel and Viennese inspired cookies. Family and friends especially looked forward to her Christmas cookies every year. She loved working in her large fruit and vegetable garden with her late husband “Louie” and made sure you would leave with something from their garden every time you visited them. Theresia was a bright, beautiful, loving woman of faith who cared deeply for her family.  She was a determined woman who brought a great sense of pride and hard work ethic to everything she did throughout her life.

Theresia is survived by her loving daughters: Mary Ann Silvestri, wife of Robert and Monica Hilty, wife of Gerald III (Tre’); grandchildren Kelli Eisenberg, wife of Jeffrey, Brian Silvestri, husband of Megan Dunn, Abigail Hilty and Julia Hilty; and a great grandchild Jack Eisenberg. She is predeceased by her sister Gisela Keglovits and brother Josef Jandrisevits and is survived by her sister Hermine Marx.
