Robert Leon Baetzel

Robert Leon Baetzel, 84, of Douglassville, PA, passed away on February 14, 2026.

Born May 28, 1941 in Phoenixvillle, PA, he was the son of the late Harold F. and Mary R. (Czukiewski) Batzel.

He was employed by Pottstown Plating as a factory worker for many years. He was a member of the Spring City American Legion, Boyertown American Legion, Pottstown Knights of Columbus, Monocacy Fire Company Social Club and Friendship Fire Company of Phoenixville.

Robert enjoyed cooking, particularly mashed potatoes and stuffed cabbage.

He is survived by life partner June Snyder and her daughters, his three sons, Michael R. Baetzel, Donald K. Baetzel, and Edward L. Baetzel, grandchildren, Sierra Baetzel, Elias Baetzel, and Grayson Baetzel and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Batzel, Raymond Batzel, and Ronald Baetzel.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Devlin-Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11 AM. 

A viewing will take place prior to the service from 9:45 to 10:45 AM.

Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Phoenixville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
