It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” Giampietro.

Pat was a lifelong resident of Phoenixville for 85 years. She loved calling Phoenixville her hometown. She grew up on First Avenue and was surrounded in the neighborhood by family and extended family while she forged enduring friendships with her neighbors. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School where she learned how to play the organ. As a grade-schooler, she played the organ for school and church functions.

Pat attended Phoenixville Area High School where she became the 1958 Dogwood Queen (the first year that the queen was chosen during a pageant), a title that inspired her to use her many talents.

Pat married the man of her dreams, Nick Giampietro, on May 28,1960. They built a loving home together on Main Street where they raised four children.

After high school graduation, Pat’s first job was secretary to the principal of Phoenixville Area High School. She later was a homemaker, real estate agent (Rambo Real Estate and AL Coffman & Son), accounts payable clerk (The West Company) and organist. She was beyond dedicated to being the organist at Sacred Heart Church for weekly mass for over four decades. She was passionate about playing the organ for Christmas and Easter services with the choir, many of whom were related to her. Along with playing the organ for weekly mass, she also played for weddings and funerals in and around the Phoenixville, Collegeville and Spring City area. Pat was also a long-standing member of the Sacred Heart Women’s Guild.

Pat had a great group of friends throughout her life. For years, she and her girlfriends would host each other at their homes and called it “Girls Club” where they would get together for hours, share stories (maybe a little bit of gossip) and enjoy appetizers, desserts and drinks.

While living on Main Street, Pat hosted Dogwood Parade parties on her porch for front row viewing. While the parade strolled by, Pat’s family and friends gathered for her famous kielbasa & sauerkraut, macaroni and potato salads, deviled eggs and other delights. Of course, we would not want to forget her Slovak roots and ethnic foods of pierogis, haluski, filled cabbage and pickled eggs.

Hosting Christmas Eve Dinner for her family was a highlight of the year. Decorating the tree, setting the kitchen and dining room tables and preparing dinner meant the world to her. Once her eight grandchildren were old enough, Pat had them perform a Christmas Pageant where they all played a part in the nativity scene. Of course there was Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, shepherds, angels and a narrator. Then, if that wasn’t enough, after the pageant and dessert, she had to run off and play the organ for 9pm mass at Sacred Heart Church.

Vacationing at her Sea Isle City, NJ house gave Pat plenty of good times. She enjoyed reading on the porch, sunning herself and drinking fuzzy navels while getting away for a weekend or extended period of time.

Pat was “Mom” to her four children.Donna (Mark), Tom (Sandy), Stephen (Laurie) and Nicky (Jose).She was affectionately known as “Mom-Mom Angel” to her eight Grandchildren, whom she boasted about to anyone she spoke with, even people she had just met. Stephanie (Tom), Christopher, Grace (Kyle), Michael (Santina), Patrick (Dara), Nicholas, Julia (Jack) and Olivia. And two Great Grandsons, Christopher and Donnie.Pat was preceded in death by her parents George & Mary, husband Nick, son-in-law Mark, grandson Christopher and sister Marie.

She was a resident of Brandywine Senior Living at Upper Providence for almost seven years. Pat was on the activity calendar called “Piano with Pat,” where she played the piano every Tuesday for the residents, until earlier this year. She kept busy walking, attending activities; baking and cooking clubs, chair & water aerobics and going out to eat and enjoy ice cream with other residents. The staff at Brandywine transported Pat to St Eleanor’s Church in Collegeville on Sundays to attend mass. The family is grateful for the safety, love and kindness provided by her caregivers.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 1:00 pm

Burial will follow in SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Cemetery, Phoenixville.

A viewing will be held at Devlin Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Sunday, September 27 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm and at the church on Monday, September 28 from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm.
