Obituary Maryann Skurecki Fuchs
July 12, 1942 – July 23, 2026
Mary Ann (Skurecki) Fuchs, 84, of Upper Providence Township, passed away peacefully at her home on July 23, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Ernest Fuchs, with whom she shared 62 wonderful years of marriage.
Born on July 12, 1942, in Philadelphia, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Leo and Anna (Augustyn) Skurecki.
A graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia where she met her husband on a blind date, Mary Ann dedicated her career to nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Germantown Hospital in Philadelphia where all of her children were born, Sacred Heart Hospital in Norristown, and later concluded her career at American Electronic Laboratories in Colmar.
Mary Ann had a multitude of friends and was passionate about her life, family, and about helping others. She was an excellent listener to those with troubles, and she enjoyed dancing, playing tennis, swimming, traveling the world, reading, the beach, and participating in activities within her community. Above all, Mary Ann cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Fuchs, and her brother, Leo Skurecki.
She is survived by her husband Ernest and her four children: Leeann Essai Stewart and her husband Ken; Christopher Fuchs and his wife, Mary; Susan Mattei and her husband, Tony; and Eric Fuchs and his wife, Sandy. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren: Aidan Essai, Marcus Fuchs, Sean Fuchs, Nicole Mattei, Vanessa Fuchs, Anna Fuchs, Brian Fuchs, Trey Mattei, and Jillian Fuchs; as well as her brother, Michael Skurecki.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 219 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at 11:00 am with Rev. Thomas P. Kletzel officiating.
Visitation will be held in the church on Thursday morning from 9:15 to 10:45 am
