Mary Therese (King) Francis, 93, wife of the late Merrill R. Francis of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on August 21, 2026 in the Reading Hospital,

She was born in Phoenixville, PA on October 9, 1932, to the late Edmond and Catharine (Shoemaker) King.

Mary attended St. Mary's Grade School in Phoenixville and Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia. She dedicated many years as a supervisor at ICI in Audubon before retiring.

A devoted member of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, Mary lent her voice to the choir and actively participated in the Women’s Group. Her community spirit was evident in her volunteer work with Meals on Wheels and her membership in the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by two sons: Michael husband of the late Martha Francis, James husband of Donna Francis; She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Francis, and is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Francis.

5 grandchildren: Michelle wife oF Melvin Pacheco, Kimberly Francis wife of Ben Ross. Jacob husband of Maura Francis, Lisa wife of Ryan Starrick, and William husband of Shannon Francis; 5 great grandchildren: Cece, Eve, Charlotte, Liam and Daisy.

Above all, Mary treasured her family and the time they spent together. Holidays were especially meaningful, with family gathering at her home, creating cherished memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. She looked forward to the family’s annual trips to Cape May with her grandchildren, where they enjoyed making memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Mary’s love, kindness, and devotion to her family will live on through all those who knew and loved her.

Friends and family are invited to her Funeral Mass at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 am, with burial following at St. Mary’s Black Rock Cemetery.
