Mary Ludwick

November 21, 1928 — February 20, 2016

Mary Ann Ludwick, wife of the late Joseph C Ludwick, died peacefully at home at the age of 87 on February 20, 2016. She was born, Mary Ann Brancaleoni, daughter of the late Pietro and Lucia (Sacchetti) Brancaleoni of Phoenixville, PA. For those that knew her, she had a passion for life and was a source of much joy and inspiration. She was proud of her Phoenixville roots, and volunteered for years at Meals on Wheels and the Colonial Theatre. The Charlestown Playhouse always held a special place in her heart, and resulted in lifelong friendships and wonderful memories for her and her family. A lifelong learner, she began her formal education at St Mary's Elementary School, graduated from Norristown Business School, and took classes at Delaware County Community College, and Widener and Immaculata universities. She loved reading about archeology and history and had the opportunity to travel to historical sites around the world. As an avid gardener, she took great pride in her home and could be found among her flowers from early Spring to late Fall sharing her love of plants and entertaining neighbors and friends. She is survived by her five children and their families: Mark and Susan Ludwick of Chester Springs, PA and their children, Stephen, Ben and Anna; Brian Ludwick of Woodland Park, CO, and his children, Abigale and Zakry; Dean and Jessica Ludwick of Steamboat Springs, CO, and their children, River and Teagan; Maria Ludwick of New Orleans, LA and David Ludwick of Chester Springs, PA, and his daughter, Janet Rodas of Xela, Guatemala. Last but not least, she is survived by her beloved companion, her Shih Tzu, Rocco. At Mary's request, there will be no funeral service at this time; a private memorial event will be hosted by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the Association for the Colonial Theatre, PO Box 712, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
