Marilyn Verna (Beach) Baker, age 90, wife of the late Donald Douglass Baker Sr., of Malvern, PA, passed away at Paoli Hospital on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
Born August 20, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Evelyn (Laing) Beach.
She was employed by Community Care Behavioral Health for twelve years where she managed training and education for Network Providers and Community Care staff.
Marilyn was a long time member of The Baptist Church in the Great Valley and worked continually with organizations in the mental health industry like the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Compeer of Chester County, Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS), Phoenixville Community Health Foundation (PCHF), the Cornerstone Clubhouse, Liberty House, Suicide Prevention Task Force (SPTF), and Community Support Program (CSP), to name a few.
She also volunteered to assist consumers assigned to her, by taking them shopping, going to lunch, a movie, or just sitting at Marsh Creek to relax and watch the sun set.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol, wife of Stephen Testa.
Grandchildren: Devon and Haley.She is preceded in death by her son, Donald Douglass 'Doug' Baker Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at The Baptist Church in the Great Valley, 945 N Valley Forge Rd, Devon, PA 19333 on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 11:00 am.
A visitation will be held at church on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 9:45 am to 10:45 am.
