Marguerite (Peggy) Sabol

January 1, 1928 – June 17, 2025

Marguerite (Peggy) Sabol, 97, passed away peacefully on June 17, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Phoenixville, PA, Peggy was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Simon. She graduated from Phoenixville High School, married her sweetheart, George Sabol Jr, at 19, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and George were married for over 60 years prior to his passing in 2007.

Peggy’s smile was contagious and she was well loved by all who had the pleasure of being in her company. In her later years, she enjoyed playing Mahjong and bingo with her friends at her senior living facility in Canton, OH as well as taking weekly trips to new restaurants. Cooking was her main passion, and gardening was a close second. She could grow an avocado tree from a pit on a windowsill!

She is survived by her children, George J. Sabol III (Bonnie) and Joseph C. Sabol (Laurie); grandchild, Lindsey Putzier (Nathan); and great-grandchild, Sebastian and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their children as well.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, George, as well as her siblings, Jack Rush, Charles Simon, Betty Ann Shoemaker, and Joe Simon.

A graveside memorial service will be held in Phoenixville at Sacred Heart Cemetery on Friday, July 18 at 11:00AM.
