Listen to Obituary

Lucy Ann Rinaldi, 98, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on March 29, 2026.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on December 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Maria and Silvestro DiFonzo.

On September 11, 1954, Lucy married Frank Rinaldi of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, who preceded her in death in 2020. Together, they built a life rooted in love and family, raising their two daughters in Mont Clare, Pennsylvania.

Lucy was a woman of many talents and passions. She found great joy in knitting, crocheting, sewing, smocking, and needlepoint, often creating beautiful handmade pieces for those she loved. She was a vivacious reader, often finishing two to three books each week before she lost her eyesight.

She was also a familiar and cherished presence in her parish community, frequently volunteering in the kitchen at church spaghetti suppers and weekly bingo nights. A devoted Philadelphia sports fan, Lucy especially loved the Phillies and Eagles and could often be found listening to sports radio on WIP to keep up with the latest news.

A lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Phoenixville, Lucy attended Mass daily and lived her faith through quiet devotion and service to others. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and, most recently, great-grandmother, whose love and guidance shaped generations of her family.

Lucy is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Joseph) Grossbauer and Donna (Philip) Morreale; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher Pettine, Emily, Rachel, and Andrew Grossbauer, and Giancarlo (Marisa) and Gabrielle Morreale; and her beloved great- grandson, Beniamino Morreale.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 40 Spring Mount Road, Schwenksville, Pennsylvania. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation beginning at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Phoenixville.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Lucy’s memory to the Ursinus College “Bears to Bears” Fund, which supports students in need of emergency assistance. Please use ursinus.edu/give and then select the designation ‘Bear2Bear Emergency Fund’

Memorial Masses may also be requested through St. Mary Church in Schwenksville.
