Lewis J. Cardella, 82, husband of Janet M. (Hughes) Cardella of East Coventry Township, PA passed away at home on Friday, January 26, 2024.

Born on January 18, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late James and Emilia (Posa) Cardella.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and retired from Verizon after 31 years.

Lewis was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spring City, PA and was an active member of the American Legion Post 211 in Sayreville, NJ where he was Past Commander and served in the Color Guard.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, he is survived by a daughter, Lisa wife of Sean Gainor; grandsons:  Dylan Gainor and Ryan Gainor; sister, Barbara Jennings; and nieces:  Andrea Risano and Deana Jennings.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, PA  on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at 11:00 am with Rev. Charles O'Hara officiating.  Burial will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA at 2:00 pm.

Family and friend may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be sent to the Southeastern Veterans Center Welfare Fund, 1 Veterans Drive, Spring City, PA  19475 or St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3640 Schuyulkill Road, Spring City, PA  19475.
