Julia A. (Demeter) Bonik, 91, wife of the late John Bonik of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025 in Phoenixville Hospital.
Born on November 4, 1933 in Pottstown, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Shandor) Demeter. She devoted her career to Paoli Hospital, where she served as a nurse’s aide, X-ray technician, and, for the last 15 years before retirement, as the medical records coordinator. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her faith was an important part of her life. She devoted many hours to Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church — serving with the Apostleship of Prayer Ladies Sodality, singing in the choir, leading the rosary prayer group, and helping wherever she was needed.
At the Phoenixville Senior Center, she found new joys, singing in the senior choir and discovering a passion for acrylic painting. She also loved cooking, dancing and organizing bus trips to the casino — always finding ways to have fun while helping raise money for good causes.
She is survived by 3 children:
Anna wife of Steven Marshalick;
Mary wife of Robert Muolo;
John Bonik.
3 Grandchildren, Alexandra Muolo wife of Benjamin Bolas, Andrew Marshalick husband of Shana, and Robert Muolo husband of Melissa.
5 Great-grandchildren, Alayna Marshalick, Andrew Marshalick, Adley Grace Marshalick, Connor Gunter, and Julia Jo Muolo.
2 Brothers, John Demeter and Michael Demeter.
She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Ann Hydutsky, Mary Kovach, Dorothy Sabo, Catherine ,D'Agostino and Helen Gresko and 1 brother, Stephen Demeter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Divine Liturgy in Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 301 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 10:30 am.
Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
A viewing will be held in the church on Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 am.
