Joseph W. Wallace, Jr.

Joseph W. Wallace, Jr., 66, of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Born in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late Joseph W. and Mildred A. (Luft) Wallace.

Joe attended local schools and was a 1977 graduate from the Northern Chester County Technical School. He received an associate degree from Montgomery County Community College in 1982 with a major in communications.

Joe previously worked as a free-lance photojournalist; and later as photo editor for former "Evening Phoenix", "The Phoenix", and "Township Voice" from 1987 - 1992. An avid photographer, Joe received several awards for personal photographic accomplishments. He also worked for the Philadelphia Freedom Valley YMCA in Phoenixville for 20 years until his retirement.

Joe was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Phoenixville, and "In Touch Ministries" of Atlanta, GA.

He enjoyed gardening, horticulture, history, and was a Phillies and Eagles fan.

Joe is survived by nieces, Stephanie Hitner, Brianne Chuko, Mary Chuko, and nephew, John Chuko. Great-nieces, Anya Chuko, Karleigh Chuko, Kylah Chuko, and great-nephews, Liam O'Brien and James Chuko.

He was preceded in death by his 3 sisters, Kathy A. Hitner, Lori M. Wallace, and Danielle T. Wallace-Bauer, and 2 nieces, Tasia Lynn Chuko and Justine Marie Hitner.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Devlin - Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.

A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
