Joseph Alexander Rudick, 75, of Phoenixville, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2026, at Keystone House Hospice in Wyndmoor. Born February 1, 1951, Joe was a lifelong Phoenixville native, born and raised in the community he called home.

Joe graduated from Phoenixville Area High School in 1969. He attended Northeastern Christian Junior College, earning his associate degree, and later graduated from Penn State University, where he served as president of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He then worked in the Unified Arts Program at Huntington Area Middle School.

Joe built a career in the crane and construction industry. He worked for Devault Crane and traveled the world through his work. He later developed his own company, Phoenix Industrial Crafters, where he built high-pedestal cranes used nationwide. He eventually retired from A.C. Miller Concrete Products as a weld shop supervisor. Joe was the kind of person who could fix almost anything.

Giving back to his community was an important part of Joe's life. For 27 years, he devoted his time to the Mont Clare Diving Unit, participating in rescue and recovery. Earlier in his life, he was a swimming instructor with the YMCA. He also volunteered with the Phoenixville Area Soccer Club, redeveloping and maintaining the soccer fields, and coached with PASC and PAHS teams.

Joe loved to travel and enjoyed memorable trips to Poland and Hungary, connecting with his family's heritage. But some of his greatest enjoyment came simply from living life with the people he loved. Joe met his high school sweetheart, Joanne, in 1967, and they shared nearly 60 years together, including 50 years of marriage. Their life was filled with fun, laughter, adventures, and the simple things they enjoyed doing together. When Joanne would tell Joe, "I love you," his answer was always, "I love you more."

Joe was a devoted father to his sons, Jon Rudick and Jimmy Rudick. He would do anything for his sons, and they would do anything for him. He was especially proud to be "Pop Pop" to his grandson, Rowan, and cherished his daughter-in-law, Alyssa.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph F. Rudick and Isabel Nagy Rudick, his in-laws Ann Strzelecki and Joseph Strzelecki, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Janice Rudick Duerr and Dennis Duerr.

In addition to his immediate family, Joe is survived by his sister-in-law, Celine Strzelecki Shanda (Rico). He was a beloved uncle to his nephews and nieces: Chris Duerr (Jenn), Kate Duerr, Andrew Erb (Sierra), and Nick Erb (Kathryn). He is also survived by his adored great-nephews and great-nieces: Henry and Annaliese; Grace and Lily; Wyatt and Autumn; and Iris.

Joe was a good, kind, funny man who loved his family, his community, and life itself. He will be remembered for his humor, generosity, willingness to help others, adventurous spirit, and the many good times he shared with those around him.

And, in true Joe fashion, he leaves us with one of his favorite sayings:

"You only rock once."
