James Paul McManus

James Paul McManus, 70, devoted husband of Andrea (Drevyanko) McManus of Upper Darby, PA  passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at AristaCare at Meadow Springs in Plymouth Meeting.

Born on February 16, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA he was a son of the late Thomas A. and Catherine U. (Doughty) McManus.  He graduated from St. Thomas More High School in Philadelphia in 1971 where he made lifelong friendships and was a member of the Alumni Association.  A devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Upper Darby.  He was an avid Phillies fan and music lover.  He built and collected model trains. He was a skilled carpenter and natural pastry chef.  Jim loved animals, his many pets, cats and his beloved dog, Brandy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister:  Judith McManus Marley wife of James, and brother:  Robert McManus in Scotland.  He was loved by his many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Rev. Thomas McManus.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Divine Liturgy at St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, 203 Jacob Street, Mont Clare, PA  on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 10:30 am.  Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery. 

Friends will be received in the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 10:30 am.
