George P. "Butch" Harig

George P. "Butch" Harig, 81, husband of the late Julia (Calabretta) Harig of Douglassville, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

Born on December 1, 1942 in Phoenixville, PA he was the son of the late Paul Harig, the late Gloria (Rosenberger) (Harig) Gray and step-father Robert J. Gray.

He proudly served in the United State Marine Corps from 1960 to 1964.

He worked at Phoenix Steel Corp until its closing and then for Neuber Concrete in Phoenixville until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Columbkill Catholic Church in Boyertown, PA and Boyertown Senior Center.

Butch enjoyed volunteering at Boyertown Area Multi Center, attending Reading Phillies games and adventures with his dear friend, Pam Vargo.

He is survived by his brother, Robert M. husband of Dolores Gray.

Nieces and nephews, Samuel Henderson, Deborah Schmale, Danielle Gray Krug wife of Don Krug, Robert P. husband of Megan Gray, Michael J. husband of Kimberly Gray, Joseph Davis, Joshua Davis, and Lindsay Davis.

2 Grandchildren, Gina Ritter and Teri Smith and many great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Barbara Collins and Mary Ellen Davis and niece, Rachael Davis.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.

A viewing will be held in church on Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45 am.
