Frederick Smith Park, 80, husband of the late Carolynne Frances (Wassmer) Park of Phoenixville, PA passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at home.

Born on September 9, 1946 in Bryn Mawr, PA he was the son of the late George Washington Young Park and Charlotte Marie (Atkinson) Park.

A graduate of the Penn State University Navy ROTC program, he obtained his degree in Russian language and area studies.

As a member of the Naval Reserve, Fred continued his service with the US Navy for more than 20 years and retired with a rank of Lieutenant Commander. He also served his country as a case manager for Health and Human Services Department, US Public Health Service.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Layne Park.

Sister, Mary Ellen Selesnick.

Former wife, Sharon Layne Park.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service in the Devlin - Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow in Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard Cemetery, Valley Forge, PA.

A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 to 10:00 am.
