Born on January 15, 1961 in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Eugene and Kathleen (Moore) Batzel
He worked at the former Phoenixville Steel Corp until its closing.
He was a die-hard Eagles and Notre Dame fan.
Gene was a member of St. Ann Church, the former Hungarian Club, the Polish Club, and the Slovak Club
He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Batzel fiancée of Anthony Hilton; granddaughters, Olivia M. Hilton and Aubrey M. Hilton; sister, Debbie Batzel
He was preceded in death by a sister, Liza Batzel
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service from the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 7:00 pm with Rev. John Newns officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
