Edward James Higgins, 91, husband to Geraldine Ann (Kisucky) Higgins for 60 years, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away at home on November 21, 2025.
Born on January 14, 1934, in Trenton, NJ. Ed was the son of the late Bernard and Kathryn (McGovern) Higgins.
Ed graduated from LaSalle College in Philadelphia and served in the Naval Reserves. Ed had a long, successful career primarily spent in sales and management, including 25 years with Wurlitzer. He was a member of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, proudly serving as an Usher and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ed was involved in his community by serving on Neighborhood Watch and Meals on Wheels. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed being a member of Chester Valley Golf Club for 25 years, where everyone knew Ed. He loved all sports; specifically, cheering for his favorites: Rory McIlroy, the Eagles, the Phillies, and Penn State football. An Irishman through and through, he sang many an Irish song, laughed often and heartily, enjoyed Irish whisky, and was a friend to all.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Dr. Kathleen, wife of Leonard Hayward; Susanne, wife of Jeffery Shaver; grandchildren Leonard IV, Daniel, and Kevin Hayward, and step-granddaughter Korinne Shaver, along with four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard Higgins, William Higgins, and Charles Higgins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Rd, Phoenixville, PA 19460, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 am.
Visitation will be held in the church on Saturday, from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
