Edward F. Glynn, 74, husband of 50 years to Margaret A. "Maggie" (Pendergast) Glynn of Spring City, PA, passed away on Tuesday evening, May 10, 2022 at home. Born on March 16, 1948 in Lawrence, MA, Ed was the son of the late Edward F. and Catherine (McIntyre) Glynn.

 

In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by three sons: John, husband of Michelle; Matthew; and Michael, husband of Lauren. Ed is also survived by four grandchildren: Sean, Aidan, Holden, and Kellyn; and two sisters: Sister Nancy Glynn and Elaine Boni. His devotion to his family throughout his life and their dear love for him has been a comfort during this difficult time.

Edward received his PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from MIT and was a Professor of Civil Engineering at Villanova University for over 30 years.

Edward was an active member of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church where he served as an usher. Ed loved traveling with his family and friends. He enjoyed trains and railroads and volunteered at the Strasburg Railroad Museum. He had a lifelong love of cinema from his time in his younger years working with his father and other family and friends in the movie theatres. Later in life, Ed volunteered at the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville. His lifetime of teaching and volunteering touched many throughout the community.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow at St. Ann Cemetery.

A viewing will be held at St. Basil Church on Saturday from 8:45 to 9:45 am.
