Dorothy A. (Slavinski) Karkoska, 85, widow of William J. Karkoska, of Spring City, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 20, 2021. Born on July 27, 1936 in Phoenixville, PA she was the daughter of the late John R. and Elsie E. (Cuper) Slavinski.
She is survived by her four children, Ruth (William) Holden, Mary (Michael) Menkins, William Karkoska and Nancy (Hazel) Karkoska. Dorothy was proud of her 5 grandchildren: Gene, Danny, Ryan, Lexi and Rylee. She was thrilled to also have 4 great-grandchildren to enjoy and love: Audrey, Mikey, Lilly and Mari.
She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Van Horn, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Slavinski and her loving companion, Joseph Klup.
She was a graduate of Phoenixville High School and joined the Civil Air Patrol in the 1950s to fulfill her passion for adventure. Later in life, this fueled her desire to travel wherever the opportunity presented.
Dorothy retired as a Trainer at National Liberty Life Insurance Company in 2001. She loved the challenges of her work.
She was also a member of the Phoenixville Area Senior Center, where she proudly volunteered in the kitchen for many years. She thoroughly enjoyed interacting with staff and other senior members.
Dorothy was an avid and true Philadelphia sports fan. She cheered her Eagles, Phillies and Sixers when they were winning and booed them like a true Philadelphia fan when they were not!
Funeral Services will be private.
