Dorothy Kane

Dorothy Elaine Kane, 76, died Saturday, October 8, 2016 at her home in Dagsboro, DE.
She was born and raised in Phoenixville to the late Stanley and Stella (Chasnocha) Bednarczyk, and lived the first half of her life in Phoenixville before moving to Maryland to accommodate her husband's career requirements. When both retired in 1994, they moved to Dagsboro, DE.
A graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School, she worked initially as a social worker at Pennhurst School and then held administrative positions at schools including the Catholic University of America. As a retiree, she was an active member of St. Ann's parish in Bethany Beach, DE and also belonged to the Bay Colony Women's Social Club. She enjoyed the beach, playing cards and traveling.
She is survived by:
her husband, Joseph Kane Sr,
daughter, Darlene Kane,
son, Daniel Kane and his wife Kimberly
son-in-law, Kenneth Fearon,
daughter-in-law, Lisa Kane,
brother, Stanley "Butch" Bednarczyk, husband of Carol
Grandchildren: Kelly Fearon, Megan Fearon, Emily Kane, Nathan Kane, Jack Kane, Maya Kane, Haley Kane
She was preceded in death by daughter Janette Fearon, son Joseph Kane Jr, and brother Ronald P Bednarczyk
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 2340 Kimberton Road, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA
A viewing will be held at the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm and at the church on Thursday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dorothy Kane may be made to IHM Mission Advancement, Camilla Hall, 1145 King Road, Immaculata, PA 19345-0100.
