Dolores Conway

August 5, 1937 — April 1, 2022

Dolores Elizabeth “Dodi” Conway, 84, of Phoenixville, PA, wife of the late Raymond J. Conway, Sr., passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 5, 1937 in Abington, PA she was the youngest daughter of Frank and Regina (Duddy) Conway. Her sisters: Theresa, Patricia, Regina, Joel, Frankie, and Jeanie, have all preceded her in death.

Dolores married the love of her life, Ray Conway on September 28, 1963. They would go on to have 5 children who, along with their spouses, will miss her dearly: Raymond and Trisha (Purcell) Conway, Patricia (Conway) and James Welsh, Serena (Conway) and Steven Straub, Michael Conway, Colleen (Conway) and Jeff Grogan.

Also surviving are Dolores’ 10 grandchildren: JP Welsh and wife Laura (Biesiadecki), Harrison Welsh and wife Emily (Byne), Claire Conway, Libby Conway, Rae Welsh, Meredith Conway, Margaret Welsh, Samantha Conway, Riley Welsh, and Leo Raymond Grogan, who will all carry her strength and faith onward.

Dodi’s careers in life included pediatric nursing, teaching preschool, and being the full time leader of a large and active family. (the job she took most pride in) She was also a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and the Clinic in Phoenixville.

Dolores was a devout Catholic and life-long parishioner of Saint Ann Parish in Phoenixville where she was an Early Childhood Educator, a member of the Women’s Guild, and the quilting club. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and collection counter. Her faith was incredibly strong and gave her the strength to handle the hardships in her life.

She was devoted to Ray. Theirs was a love story for the ages and it knew no limits. Sadly, Ray passed away when Dolores was only 58 years old of cancer and, of course, Dodi was his caregiver until the very end.

Within a few years of Ray’s passing, Dolores’ mind began to betray her and her body quickly followed suit. Dementia took away the person she was and forced her to spend her remaining years completely in the care of others. The fly boy came to whisk Dodi home to her eternal rest on April 1st, just in time for a lovely dinner and beautiful sunset.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dodi’s Funeral Mass in St. Ann Chapel, 604 Main St., Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville.

A visitation will be held in the Chapel on Thursday from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m.
