Dianne Priscilla (Skatz) Wassel, aged 88, peacefully passed away on September 27, 2025, at Pottstown Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Wassel.
Born in Paoli on August 13, 1937; Diane was the daughter of the late Anthony and Dorothy (Aceto) Skatz. She received her education at the Katharine Gibbs School, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to service and care.
Dianne had a rewarding career as the Director of Senior Living at King Terrace in Phoenixville and Vincent Heights in Spring City, where she touched the lives of many senior residents. Her commitment to her work reflected her compassionate spirit.
Dianne was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spring City, PA; and spent most of her life as a resident in both Phoenixville and Royersford.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed a variety of interests, including photography, playing pinochle, watching movies, and listening to the music of Tony Bennett and Andrea Bocelli. Dianne had a special fondness for bird watching and treasured her summer vacations in Wildwood, NJ, where she loved to soak up the sun on the beach. She was also a passionate sports fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
Dianne is survived by her loving sons, Kevin (husband of Teri Wassel) and Joseph (husband of Christine Wassel), as well as her seven grandchildren: Nicole, Gianna, Shea, Bryn, Chase, Brady, and Flynn. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her three great-grandchildren, Mila, Roman and Aubrey.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Louis Skatz, Gloria Skatz, and Sylvio Skatz.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dianne’s life at her Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 3640 Schuylkill Road, Spring City, PA. A viewing will be held in the church from 9:30 to 10:45 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dianne’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
Dianne’s warm presence and kind spirit will be truly missed but always remembered.
