David R. Midgley, 91, husband of Carol (Tripner) Midgley, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. He was the son of the late David R. and Kathryn (Warren) Midgley.

Known as Heff or Heffy to his family, Dave was born February 9, 1935 in a house built by his grandfather in Phoenixville, PA. Dave was a long time resident of Valley Forge, PA, where his family has deep roots. He and his wife were residents of The Meadows at Shannondell at the time of his death.

Dave graduated from Springfield High School and briefly served in the United States Navy. He also worked for the Reading Railroad. He owned David Midgley & Co., a home heating oil company, where he worked with his sons, Dave and Dan, and his wife, Carol, until they sold the business in 2006.

Dave enjoyed driving trips all over the U.S., as well as fine dining. He was also a regular diner at Baxter's Paoli for several decades. Dave enjoyed following financial markets and loved to watch baseball. He also spent countless hours walking his succession of beloved standard poodles in Wilson Farm Park.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; David R. Midgley Jr., husband of Robin, of Phoenixville, Kathryn M. Ruth, wife of Harold M. III, of Norristown, Daughter in law Angela Midgley, wife of his late son Daniel F. Midgley, of Phoenixville. He is also survived by his grandchildren; David R. Midgley IV, Daniel F. Midgley, Jr., and Grace K. Midgley, in addition to great grandchildren Vienna and Delphine Midgley. Dave is also survived by his step children; Linda Rocca of Wilmington, DE, and John Alexander, husband of Barri, of Valley Forge.
