David A. Lawrence

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of David A. “Dave” Lawrence, 54 of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Beloved husband of Pamela (Agnew) Lawrence and loving father of Haylen Lawrence, Dave passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, following a brave battle with cancer. Dave was a devoted husband and father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. Dave’s love for his family and friends was the driving purpose in his life. In addition to his wife and daughter, Dave is survived by his dear mother Barbara, sister Deborah and nephew J.R., as well as treasured uncles, aunts and cousins. Dave had many friends whom he considered brothers, especially Vic Khazen, Dave Golberg, John Ross and Lee Irwin. He is preceded in death by his cherished father, Robert Lawrence, aunt Ann Marie Wehler, and cousin Jonathan Wehler.

Born on May 17, 1970 in Wilmington, Delaware, he was the son of loving parents Barbara (Fetchko) Lawrence and the late Robert Lawrence. Dave grew up knowing the joys of family, friendship and fun. He was a talented hockey player in high school and college. Dave received his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from West Chester University. He went on to join the emerging cell phone industry in 2000. He worked tirelessly to serve in that field for 23 years.

Dave and Pam met through friends at a 4th of July party in 2001 and hit it off immediately. They married at Congress Hall in Cape May, New Jersey on October 24, 2004. This year marks their 20th anniversary. The birth of their daughter Haylen Anne in 2006 completed their family. They traveled to England, France, and Scotland, and went on several cruises…trips of a lifetime. Family trips to Maryland, Sandbridge Beach, Massanutten Mountain and Disney World created so many happy memories.

Dave was an avid sportsman and loved to be outdoors for any reason. Many good times were had with friends on hunting and fishing trips to New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado and Texas. Cambridge, Maryland was special to Dave’s heart, and he spent many hours there hunting and helping to work on the property that he loved.

All would agree that Dave never met a stranger. He had many treasured friends wherever he went. The Members Only club and his neighborhood Backyard Games groups met regularly for poker, sun and fun down the shore, motorcycle excursions and trips for Dave’s beloved Philadelphia sports teams. Dave loved life and lived every moment to the fullest. Memories of his big smile and unforgettable laugh will bring back memories forever.

Dave touched so many lives and left cherished memories in so many hearts. His absence will be felt profoundly by all who knew him. Let us all live on in happiness in his memory – and let us live like Dave did; live every day for the joy in it.

A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Monday, July 8th from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Devlin - Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 South Main Street, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to Ducks Unlimited, a wetlands conservation non-profit in honor of Dave’s love for all things outdoors.
