Darcie D. Johnston

Darcie (Debaun) Johnston passed away peacefully on October 7, 2024, at the age of 71, from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) at her home in Phoenixville.

Born in Alameda, CA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Madeleine Debaun.

Darcie’s giving spirit was seen in her warmth and kindness to others, her love and care for animals (including many dogs and, most recently, her goats, Thelma and Luigi), her volunteer work with prisoners and in most things she did. In keeping with that spirit, Darcie’s wish for her body to be donated for ALS research will be carried out. 

Darcie is survived by her loving companion, John Hnatin and his family, and by many loved ones in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Texas and elsewhere.
