Chester “Chet” W. Whisler, 75, husband of Anne (Fuller) Whisler of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026.
Born on August 31,1950 in Phoenixville, PA, Chester was the son of the late Chester W. Whisler, Sr. and Lettie V. (Worth) Whisler.
Chester was a 1968 graduate of Phoenixville High School and worked various jobs throughout his life. Chester worked for the Borough of Phoenixville and provided janitorial services at the Phoenixville School District. He spent most of his life as a Yardman for Shanaman's Lumber Yard, Phoenixville Lumber, and retired from A.D. Moyer in Pottstown.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Chester coached girls' softball at PECO Field, enjoyed shooting pool and bowling in various leagues. He loved playing board games with his children & grandchildren, creating games, and most especially winning them. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, and ALL of the “Philly” sport teams.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 children: Carol F. (Whisler) Grimsley, wife of Daniel Grimsley; C. William Whisler and Julia Grebe; Lisa R. (Whisler) Kirk, wife of Andy Kirk; James M. Whisler, husband of Kayla (Parker Reish) Whisler; Andrew P. Whisler, husband of Kerry Weaver; 4 Grandchildren: Cassandra Piergallini, Meagan Grimsley, Madison Grimsley, and Lydia Whisler; as well as numerous "grand-animals".
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Hoopes.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service in the Devlin - Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 10:00 am.
Burial will be private.
A viewing will be held in the Devlin - Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA Tuesday, August 4th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
