Carl Lawrence Hornung was born to Earl B. and Carrie M. (Knorr) Hornung on January 25, 1935 in Lavelle, PA. He was the youngest of 14 children.
He married the late Eleanor J. (O'Neill) Hornung on September 30, 1956 and resided in Phoenixville, PA.
He is preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, and son Carl, Jr. and two grandsons Daniel and Steven Cheri.
He is survived by five daughters Colleen, wife of William Pigeon, Carrie and her partner Dennis McCormick, Louise, wife of William LaPorte, Maureen Hornung, and Carla and partner William Gabriel, III.
He has ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is a member of Valley Forge Fire Company and Locust Gap Fire Company.
He passed away on June 28, 2019 at Phoenixville Hospital.
He was a former shift supervisor at J.R. Hollingsworth in Phoenixville. He was employed by J.D.M. Materials for over 30 years and had worked part time as a truck driver for Superior Oil. He was a natural handyman who was always fixing something.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 11:00 am with Rev. Joseph Dietz officiating.
Burial will follow in Morris Cemetery.
A viewing will be Friday in the funeral home from 9:30 to 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company, 630 Valley Park Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
