Betty Ann Shoemaker

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Shoemaker was called to heaven by a peaceful flurry of snow to join her late husband, Frederick W. "Rick" Shoemaker of Phoenixville, PA. Waiting with Rick were her beloved parents Charles S. and Elizabeth (Evans) Simon, her brother Charles Simon, twin brother Joseph Simon, and other friends and family.

Betty Ann’s earthly life began on August 3, 1943 and since then, her light illuminated the lives of all those fortunate to know her. She enjoyed the slow, easy moments life has to offer; conversations filled with laughter, crocheting beautiful pieces of art, and the undeniable thrill of bingo. She worked at the Gateway Pharmacy for many years, as well as with the Freedom Foundation and as a personal caretaker. Her light shined especially bright during family gatherings where she soaked in all the joy that came from being a mother to six children, a grandmother to fourteen grandchildren, and a great grandmother to 7 children. Her unwavering devotion to caring for others all her life was a testament to her kind and genuine nature.  

Betty Ann’s legacy will be carried on by her children: Rick husband of Cheryl Shoemaker, Debbie wife of Jody Shollenberger, Gary husband of Stephanie Shoemaker, Tom Shoemaker, Terri wife of Chris Miller, and Dave husband of Courtney Shoemaker. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will continue to feel her presence in winter’s kiss of snow and spring’s hydrangea bloom. She will be dearly missed by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 212 Dayton Street, Phoenixville, PA on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 10:00 am.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. A visitation will be held in church from 8:45 to 9:45 am.
