Andrew Michael Dzuryachko lll, husband of the late Noel (McNamara) Dzuryachko passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Andy, Buddy, Mutz, Pops….he wore as many hats as he had nicknames. After high school, Buddy enlisted in the US Navy, receiving dive and firefighter training, giving him the foundation for a lifelong career as a first responder. He was a member of the Mont Clare Volunteer Fire Department for many years and served as chief for 9 years. He was a founding member of the Mont Clare Diving Unit, and coordinator for the Montgomery County Dive Unit. In addition, he was a scuba instructor at the Phoenixville YMCA and instructor for his local civil defense unit. Andy’s professional career began with Liberty Fire Protection in Bridgeport, PA. He eventually joined the Hurst team and became an instructor of the Jaws of Life rescue tool. During his career he worked for Code 3 Rescue and ResQtek which moved him to St. Louis, MO. He used his expertise to serve his local community as a first responder and also served as a firefighter and a rescue training instructor at the Pocono Raceway and Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Anyone visiting the Dzuryachko home on Spares Lane was used to the sound of the fire radio going off and Mutz running out the door in the middle of the night or with dinner on the table! He was a small town guy who always served his community and helped out his neighbors. He was a dedicated family man who was devoted to his wife and daughters. Pops loved the outdoors and never missed a chance to enjoy the camaraderie of his hunting and fishing buddies or teach his grandchildren campfire safety. He would tell anyone that would listen how to tie knots, fish or build sledding ramps in the snow.
Mutz loved his hometown of Mont Clare. He told many stories of how, as a child, he ran around these roads, hiked these woods, and swam and fished in the canal and Schuylkill River.
In his golden years, Mutz and Noel retired to Louisiana where he served as a member of the St. Tammany/Madisonville Fire Department. Andy was a member of St. Anselm Church and St. Joseph Catholic Church and a 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed eating crawfish, fishing, and captaining his boat on the Tchefuncte River with Noel by his side. He enjoyed a pastime of making homemade walking sticks that he collected from different hikes he went on and loved to share these with his friends and family.
Andrew is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Noel McNamara Dzuryachko, and his parents Andrew and Helen Dzuryachko.
He is survived by his two sisters Helen Marie Keiser and Mary Rose Martin, his three daughters, Paula, Jill and Brenda and 5 grandchildren of whom he was very proud.
Buddy was a Mont Clare boy at heart and wanted us to bring him home, so we will carry him up the steps of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church…the steps he walked up every Sunday as an altar boy, the same steps he walked up to marry his “Sweetpea” and baptize his three children and lay him to rest at St. Michael’s Cemetery, located high on the hill overlooking his childhood home in Mont Clare, PA. He will be laid to rest in Mont Clare but his spirit will forever soar next to his beloved wife, Noel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing in St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, 203 Jacobs Streets, Mont Clare, PA on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 9:15 to 10:15 am. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 am with Rev. Andriy Kovach officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
