Albert R. Wiegert, 60, husband of Susan A. (Raichle) Davis-Wiegert of Elverson, PA, formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at home following a long illness.

 

Born on June 21, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York he was the son of the late Robert and Gerda (Naeve) Wiegert.

 

Al started the police academy in November of 1981. Until his retirement in December of 2021 he worked various districts including the 16th, 22nd,, Narcotics Strike Force and East, North and Central detectives where he retired in December of 2021 after serving 40 years on the force. He made many friendships over the years.

 

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

 

Al was an avid Beekeeper and enjoyed playing volleyball and tennis.

 

In addition to his wife he is survived by step-children:

James Sands;

Ian Davis;

Mariah Davis.

Step-grandchildren, Ava Sands and Elyse Sands.

Sisters, Helene Hale and Debra wife of Troy Soltau.

Nephews, Jacob and Gregory Hale.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing in Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 S. Main Street, Phoenixville, PA on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

 

A Celebration of Al's Life with memory sharing will be announced at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Survivors Fund at the  Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, 11630 Caroline Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154.   Attention:  Lorraine.
